During college, Anya returned to seduce Xander so that she could get him out of her mind. However, she ended up falling for him and the two have been extremely sexually active ever since. Anya has been accepted as a primary member of the Slayerettes. Before the final battle with Glory, Xander proposed to her only to be told to give her the ring after, if they survived. They had to hide their engagement for quite a while due to Buffy's death and then resurection and subsequent adjustments

During the Haloween episode they finally anounced it to the gang and Giles. With the wedding just days away both of their stress levels were at their highest levels and they were often at eachother's throats particularly since the visit of one of Anya's old Vengance Demon pals.

Although Anya got in touch with her human side, she stills showed her arrogance and demon-nature by butting into conversations and biting into Xander (literally). With Giles returning to England Anya officially becomes the top dog, and partner, at the Magic Box.

Formally (and once again) the vengeance demon-also known as the Patron Saint of Scorned Women-Anya (or Anyanka) has recently seen a lot of life changes in her 1124 years. She was first cursed by the demon D'Hoffryn for practicing vengeance spells on men. As the story goes, Anya first entered Sunnydale to grant a wish with her magic necklace to Cordelia. Rather than wish something bad to happen to Xander, Cordy wished that Buffy had never moved to Sunnydale and a horrible alternate reality was created. Luckily, Giles destroyed the powerful amulet and Anya was transformed into a regular woman and student at Sunnydale High. The evil D'Hoffryn refused to change her back and she was left not old enough to buy beer and not bright enough to pass math. .

After being desserted at the altar by Xander D'Hoffryn took pity on her and once again made a Vengence Demon. When she returned to Sunnydale she spent the better part of a month trying to get back at Xander before figuring the best way was to sleep with Spike. It backfired by making her feel worse. when Giles returned to fight Willow her feelings toward him were brought to the surface as she was forced to watch while he "died" only to have him have the magics returned to him at the last possible moment. In the time she has been in Sunnydale Giles has been the father figure that she needed as the Teen she was forced to become after losing her demonhood.
