She befriended first Cordy, leading to her recapture, and then Angel when he saved her from being beheaded for being
a runaway. She saw thru his demonic side when her allowed it thru so as to better fight the priests soldiers that were pursing
them and tamed him after he attacked Wesley and Gunn. She had already learned how the words worked to open portals and
had opened portals without knowing where they were opening. Once she was able to talk with Wes and they studied the 'Wolf'-'ram'
and 'Hart' books they were able to determine the way to return home. She has stayed with the team ever since even after her
parents returned to take her home, they all came to the realization that the team was where she belong after her father took
on a demon and her mother ran it over with a bus. After her short "crush" on Wesley she and Gunn have become involved, which
has interfered with their work a couple of times.
Always watching her back, she eventually learns to trust and rely on the team!

Winifred was working as a librarian while working towards her doctorate in Physics. One night as she was putting away books
she stumbled across this dimensions 'Wolf'-'ram' and 'Hart' book. As she read the words she was pulled into a parallel (demon)
dimension. She was stuck in that dimension, first as a slave then as a runaway, for 5 years before Cordy was given a vision
about her disappearance. This event lead to the gangs encounter with Lornes cousin Landock, who became a great help when they
pursued Cordy into Landock's home dimension when Cordy was pulled in as they were sending Landock home.
"Hansome man came and saved me.."
And you thought Angel hated singing in front of a crowd!
